The Story – Part 1

So now I´m at home and feeling confused and disappointed. Thoughts like why, what could I´ve done differently, was it worth it, etc. keeps popping up.

I was suprised about the kindness and helpfullnes of people in Argentina and before the race.

Went down to the harbour, which was a good 70km away from where I was staying. Got inside and found the service truck with my name and the Finnish flag next to it, cool! Waited for the guys (the Berglund Brothers, Chris, Martin and John) to arrive, whichafter we picked up the bikes and rode them to Tecnopolis, where the service and Dakar-village was. Johns LC4-50 had battery issues, so I rode with him to give him start help when needed.

NewYears eve. Went to Tecnopolis to sort out my handlebar issue and sort out my boxes. Visited the Dakar-village, where there was loads of enthusiastic fans and they wanted me to pose in pictures and even write autographs, I felt confused. So I decided to ask one, why they thought I´m that special. They simply replied: “Because you have done a huge job just to get here and we think that´s awsome”

Thursday 1.1.2015

Went to the gym to stretch in the morning. During the afternoon it was time for the admin and technical checks, luckily I had only some minor things to fix (rescue equipment attached in the wrong place).

Friday 2.1.2015

Went to town with Calle Hagenblad, to get some local currency for fuel on the transport. Hang around the service tent and mingled with race-people.

More to follow really soon…
